GlenWebDesign is short for Gleneve Web Design. Gleneve is a small business which was established in 1993 with the aim of providing a quality service at an affordable price. With the rapid expansion of the internet in 1999 we decided that we, like most other small businesses, would require an internet presence.
Unfortunately the prices quoted to us were extremely prohibitive for a small business like ourselves and we therefore took the decision to attempt to produce our own web site. After many abortive attempts we managed to produce something which, although not exactly beautiful, was fully functional and did well on the search engines.
We were then asked by others to help them produce web sites for their small business and we quickly realised that there was a wide gap in the market for affordable web design.
Since then we've designed over 100 web sites for customers throughout the UK and USA from a diverse range of businesses. Our unique perspective of having been in a small business situation ourselves for many years means that we not only understand the business owners development ideas, but also what the customer wishes to see when they view the web site. This perspective is something that many new web designers lack - they tend to concentrate on producing something which demonstrates their design skills, rather than promoting the actual product or service itself.
